Android [ROM] – MIUI V1.2.25 v2 English for Desire HD
I have flashed this cute AOSP rom codename MIUI rom to HTC Desire HD. The rom is stable, originally from China but developers have already translate it to English.
MIUI is based on Android 2.2.1 and the look-and-feel is just like Apple iOS. Yes, if you want your android looks like iPhone-like, you can flash this rom.
After restoring all my application, I found out that this rom is fast, as fast as the CM7 Gingerbread Rom I posted before. I tested the quadrant score and the result was owesome. I get around 3000-3500 score from 1.5Ghz oc kernel.
All the applications are working fine, just like normal HTC sense rom but the major problem (just like CM7), it consume a little bit high in power consumption. When idle, i get around 11-15mA while I can get 1-5mA in Android Revolution HD 2.0.16. Well, it’s still can be consider Okay. Thanks to Developers that still try to work out of this issue.
Try it yourself. You’ll find that this rom is very interesting.

[CM7] HTC Desire HD on Android 2.3.2 Gingerbread
The last article I wrote was the Samsung Galaxy S running on Android 2.3.2 Gingerbread (located here). I believe that there are also peoples that waiting for this version of Android running on their own device. For example, the HTC Desire HD.
HTC Desire HD (codename ACE) is a popular device for Android (during this article written) but it comes with default Froyo 2.2 , and for early owner (before January 2011), they will get the OTA update to version 2.2.1 . HTC has stop this update because of several issues (notification) early in January but the issues has already been fixed by developers at XDA and has been implement at lots of custom rom (based on HTC sense).
Talk about custom ROM, CyanogenMod is one of the famous group that work around AOSP (Android Open Source Project) rom. They modified the file to be suit into some of the device to support the latest Android version before the original manufacture release it.
The CM7′s Gingerbread is now stable on Desire HD and available to download for Release Candidate 1. I’ve tried it and it’s very fast, but the major issue is the battery life. It has been recognized and the developers are working around with it. By the way, the battery life is still acceptable. One day, a 24hour of a middle use. Just like a stock HTC rom. The link to the file for RC1 is located here, there are also nighly release for developers to working around.
I believe when CM7 fixed this “normal” battery life issue(where there are lots of user still don’t want to change to CM7 because of this), the CM7 rom will kicks away other htc sense-based rom.

Android 2.3.2 Gingerbread on Samsung Galaxy S (I9000)
Up to this article is written, Android 2.3 Gingerbread is still not available for Samsung Galaxy S (and also many other android phone too), but, if you want to test it, you can flash a custom AOSP rom using Android 2.3.2 Gingerbread by CyanogenMod. (CM7).
The CM7 ( the number 7 is for Gingerbread , while 6 is Froyo) for Galaxy S is still in development stage, with bugs and some issues but the performance is perfect. It has a very fast and smooth interface, and BEST battery performance ever than any other custom rom for Galaxy S. The current usage(measure in mA) in standy mod is just around 1-4mA.
To know more about CM7 for Galaxy S, you can visit the official Cyanogen web here.
